United, we can make a difference. The fight against deforestation and global warming requires everyone's collaboration. Every effort matters, every action counts. Together, we build a greener and more sustainable future for our planet.
NASA and the Amazon Forest Barrier (BFA)
The collaboration between NASA and the Amazon Forest Barrier (BFA) highlights the institutional support received since 2022 to strengthen efforts in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in the Amazon’s periphery. Through programs such as the Americas Earth Observation Group (AmeriGEO) and the Latin American Climate Initiative (LACI), NASA has facilitated the tracking of environmental changes, the analysis of climate threats, and the strengthening of local capacities for resilience. This partnership drives nature-based solutions, benefiting both biodiversity and local communities.

AmeriGEO and the Amazon Forest Barrier
A Strategic Alliance for Conservation
The collaboration between AmeriGEO and the Amazon Forest Barrier (BFA) reflects a joint effort to protect biodiversity and address climate change challenges in the Amazon’s periphery. Through AmeriGEO’s technical and methodological support, the program has integrated advanced tools to track environmental changes, assess climate risks, and empower local decision-makers. This synergy has strengthened community capacity to adapt to climate change, promoting resilience and sustainable development in one of the planet’s most critical regions.

LACI and the Amazon Forest Barrier

Building Climate Resilience
As part of the Amazonia Pilot under the LACI Initiative, the Amazon Forest Barrier (BFA) collaborates to enhance climate risk assessment capacity in the region. This effort includes the use of innovative tools and adaptive approaches that inform decision-making in response to climate change impacts. Through these actions, LACI and the Amazon Forest Barrier drive sustainability, community resilience, and the protection of critical Amazon ecosystems.

Strategic Alliance for Environmental Restoration
The Amazon Forest Barrier (BFA) has forged a strategic alliance with American Carbon Trading (ACT), a company committed to developing sustainable projects in Colombia. Together, we aim to drive environmental restoration across the country, promoting responsible practices in our initiatives. Currently, we are collaborating on the exploration of mangrove restoration projects in the Colombian Pacific region, highlighting the crucial role of these ecosystems in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity.
